PH Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat’s Message on the Celebration of the World Tourism Day

On 27 September the Philippines joined countries around the world to celebrate World Tourism Day.

In her message, Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat shared how the Philippines Department of Tourism‘s goals and plans for moving forward are aligned with this year’s theme ‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth’ especially in light of the global pandemic.

“This crisis has highlighted the opportunity for the Philippines’ tourism industry to build back better, shifting its narrative toward resilient, inclusive, and sustainable growth. Our plans and programs for the rest of 2021 and until the first half of 2022 will be devoted to activities that will protect livelihoods and the workforce, as well as broadening and deepening the roots of community engagement, capitalizing on the country’s strengths.”

PDOT London’s Fun Domination at the 2021 Taste of PATA

The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) Booth at the Taste of PATA was a big hit for the more than 200 British travel trade visitors who joined the business networking session organised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)-UK Chapter at the Tanner Warehouse, Bermondsey in London last September 15, 2021.

The Philippines Department of Tourism celebrates the history and culture of the country by developing new circuits among its regions. It is also focusing on standardizing health and safety protocols for all tourism areas as the country gets ready to welcome the rest of the world with its famous warm hospitality.

With the country’s rich heritage and culture, sites of interest abound all over the country. Many of these historic places can even be visited conveniently in one city.
